The Golden Apples There are two differnt stories that involve the Golden Apples. The first one has to do with a girl named Atlanta, who was an amazing hunter and runner. She was better then all the men, she was abandoned at birth and raised by bears, and soon found by a hunter.

The second Golden Apple story is about the three goddesses, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. The Goddess of discord was angry, because she was the only one not invited to a wedding. So, she dropped a golden apple and said the fairest of all goddesses should have it. All three goddesses went for it. Which started a problem. Zeus chose a sheppard names Paris, to choose which one he thoguht was the fairest. He chose Aphrodite because, she promised him the love of a beautiful woman.

Hippomenes used three golden apples to distract Atlanta, so he could win a running race against her, and marry her.

The Story of the Magic Pear Tree: A merchant came into a market to sell his pears. He had an entire barrel full of pears he grew himself. A begger came and asked for a one, because he couldn't afford it. The merchant wouldn't give him one, this started a fight between the two. A man watching close by started to get angry at the two men fighting, so he bought a pear for the begger. The begger burried the pear and the ground and out came a pear tree covered in pears. He gave them to everyone around him, as the merchant watched in amazement. When he went back to his barrel all of his pears were gone and one of the handles of his barrel were missing.

It is said that your not supposed to think about how the begger stole the pears.

Some Disney movies, such as Snow White, or the new movie Enchanted have foods related to them. In both movies there are apples that if eaten, they will die. instantly.

Comparison between golden apples & Disney: - The Golden apple in the first story would go to the fairest goddess, in Snow White the witch poisons snow white so she could be the fairest. - Both stories are involved with apples. - The goddess of discord can be compared to the evil queen in Snow White, they both give out apples to cause problems, or to make them happy.

''Are you afraid of poison?'' asked the old woman. ''Look, I'll cut the apple in two. You eat half and I shall eat half.''
